Hawaii Rodem Tree (하와이 로뎀나무) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit Korean Christian church community located in Honolulu, Hawaii. Our name is inspired by the Rodem tree (also known as the Juniper tree) in 1 Kings 19, where the prophet Elijah rested under its shade after a long and weary journey — and where God provided him with food, water, and renewed strength for the road ahead. Like that Rodem tree, our church is a place of rest, refreshment, and renewal for all who come weary and burdened.
Our mission is to be a spiritual home and resting place for the Korean-American community in Hawaii — a place where people can encounter God's presence, find rest for their souls, receive healing and restoration, and be renewed in their faith and purpose. We are committed to preaching the Gospel, nurturing spiritual growth, and building a loving community of faith that serves one another and reaches out to the world.
We envision a church that is a true Rodem tree for our community — a place of shade and shelter in life's storms, a source of spiritual nourishment and renewal, and a launching pad for God's purposes in Hawaii and beyond. We believe that God is at work in our community and that He is calling people to find rest and renewal in His presence through our fellowship.
We gather regularly for worship, prayer, and the study of God's Word — seeking His presence together as a Korean-American community of faith in the heart of Honolulu.
Our Sunday worship service is the heart of our community life. We gather for Spirit-filled worship through Korean and contemporary Christian music, heartfelt prayer, and expository preaching from God's Word. Our services are conducted primarily in Korean, with English support available. All are warmly welcome to join us for worship and fellowship.
Our Wednesday evening service provides an opportunity for midweek spiritual renewal, deeper study of God's Word, and prayer together as a community. It is a time to pause in the middle of the week, rest under the Rodem tree of God's presence, and be refreshed and renewed for the days ahead. All members and visitors are welcome.
We believe deeply in the power of prayer, and our Friday night prayer gatherings are a vital part of our church life. We come together to seek God's face, intercede for our community and nation, and experience His presence in a powerful way. Prayer night is a faith-building, life-changing experience that we encourage every member to attend regularly.
We offer a range of ministries to serve every member of our church family and reach out to our broader community with the love and grace of Jesus Christ.
Nurturing Korean-American children in faith, love, and their cultural heritage through age-appropriate teaching, worship, and activities in both Korean and English.
Equipping Korean-American teenagers to navigate life with faith, identity, and purpose — through weekly gatherings, retreats, mentorship, and service projects.
Creating a supportive community for women to grow in faith, build friendships, and serve together through Bible studies, prayer groups, and fellowship events.
Equipping Korean-American men to be godly leaders in their homes, workplaces, and community through fellowship, accountability, and Bible study.
Serving the broader Honolulu community with the practical love of Christ — supporting families in need, new immigrants, and partnering with local organizations.
Our worship team leads the congregation in Spirit-filled praise and worship through Korean and contemporary Christian music, creating an atmosphere of God's presence in every service.
